This site has been set up by the Scottish Countryside Alliance Educational Trust as a guide to the most authoritative and up to date information on Scotland’s moorland. This site is for students and teachers, for journalists and policy makers – for anyone who cares about Scotland’s moorlands.

Scottish Countryside Alliance Educational Trust
The Scottish Countryside Alliance Educational Trust (SCAET) was set up as a Scottish charity in 2003 by the Scottish Countryside Alliance, in response to the very obvious need to reconnect the people of Scotland with its countryside.

Countryside Alliance
The Countryside Alliance works for everyone who loves the countryside and the rural way of life. Through campaigning, lobbying, publicity and education the Alliance influences legislation and public policy that impacts on the countryside, rural people and their activities.
